Over the past few months, ads have popping up all over Facebook. There are some people who don't like that they show up in their News Feeds and then there are others who don't mind. The ads are targeted at a specific audience to create traffic to a particular website. People should expected to see more of the same for quite some time and more ads will be seen on the social media site.
"Facebook has worked out all sorts of ways to track its users and work out what kind of ads they might like; it has also made it possible for outside advertisers to match up their own internal databases of potential customers with Facebook accounts, placing ads only on the pages of individually identified users."
